West London Reflexology

Help the body heal through relaxation.

Association of ReflexologistsMy name is Sachiko Matsuhira. I am a fully qualified reflexololgist having studied at The London School of Reflexology. I am also a member of The Association of Reflexology. The art of reflexology dates back to Ancient Egypt, India and China, coming to the west in the early 1900s. Reflexology is a complementary therapy that works on the feet or hands enabling the body to heal itself. The theory is that following illness, stress, injury or disease, the body is in a state of "imbalance", and that vital energy pathways are blocked, preventing the body from functioning effectively. Reflexology may be used to restore and maintain the body's natural equilibrium and encourage healing.

How many Reflexology treatments should I have?

This varies but a series of treatments may be needed to make a significant change to your condition. You may choose to visit weekly until a consistent improvement is recorded, progressing to fortnightly and then to monthly intervals. After a course of treatments you may choose to come regularly to help maintain good health and general stress free living.

Is Reflexology painful?

Reflexology Foot MassageMost people feel very relaxed and some of them even fall asleep during the treatment however, sometimes mild discomfort can be felt due to the pressure applied in areas where there is an imbalance. If you experience any pain, you must say straight away as it may be symptomatic of a more serious condition.

How will I feel after reflexology?

Most people feel thirsty immediately after the treatment and water is needed to flush toxins out from your body, so I recommend drinking a lot of water after the treatment. Many people feel positive and energetic but some feel deeply relaxed and sleepy.

Will I have to bring anything with me for a treatment?

Everything will be provided so you just need to wear comfortable clothes.

What training do I have?

I am fully qualified up to level 3 in Reflexology which is the highest grade in the United Kingdom. I studied under Louise Keet, a highly respected and experienced reflexologist and author of "The Reflexology Bible", at The London School of Reflexology. I am also first aid trained.

Can I try one session?

Of course. Usually your first session will be focused on deep relaxation and identifying any problems we may wish to work on. You first session will also allow you to get a feel for reflexology and how it may help you.
